8 Venues to Host a Big Convention in Palm Springs
Here is Palm Springs corporate DJ Track Star Staci’s guide to the 8 local venues big enough to host a convention, conference, or expo. Palm Springs might be a “small town,” but, rest assured, all the big city amenities are here—from culture, charm, and personality to an international airport and a world class nightlife scene. Plenty of big events choose Palm Springs as their host city: Coachella, Stagecoach Festival (largest country music festival in the world), Palm Springs International Film Festival, Modernism Week, White Party (largest gay dance party in the world), PGA golf tournaments, and USTA tennis tournaments.
This list of large Palm Springs event venues only features venues that are actually IN Palm Springs (not Palm Desert, not Cathedral City). DJ Track Star Staci lived in Mexico for 10 years (Puerto Vallarta, Cancun). She noticed from event-to-event that out-of-town guests were constantly disappointed when they found out, for example, that the Hard Rock Hotel Vallarta is actually IN A DIFFERENT STATE than Puerto Vallarta. On the other coast, when guests of the Dreams Sapphire Riviera Cancun arrive, they realize that they are actually staying in a small pueblo called Puerto Morelos (40 minutes from downtown Cancun). If you want to enjoy Palm Springs’ historic charm and mid-century flare…and you can’t do that in Indio. This isn’t to say that there aren’t gorgeous venues in La Quinta and Rancho Mirage, but, if you want Palm Springs atmosphere and culture, you need to be in Palm Springs 🙂
