DJing North Coast’s Business Retreat at La Quinta Resort
DJ Track Star Staci was thrilled to be the La Quinta DJ that North Coast, an electrical distribution company, hired for their lavish business retreat at the La Quinta Resort & Club on May 5th and 6th, 2023. The following write-up is based on La Quinta DJ Track Star Staci’s notes for this La Quinta Resort awards gala and pool party.

La Quinta DJ Track Star Staci played from 7:00 pm until 11:00 pm for Friday’s awards gala. There weren’t too many formalities:
North Coast sales leaders won these “records.” On stage, all the winners snapped their awards in half to symbolize that “records are made to be broken.” Love it!

DANCE FLOOR RECIPE
While La Quinta corporate DJ Track Star Staci offers clients pre-curated playlists to choose from, the event planners weren’t sure if North Coast wanted to dance. North Coast’s request list contained both party anthems and background music. When the president arrived, I confirmed with him if he was expecting a dance party after the awards ceremony—the answer was YES! So, due to this late notice, I had to rely on old dance playlists since I had no prep time. Not to worry…the music was on point, and North Coast packed the dance floor from start to finish! Here are North Coast’s 20 requested songs:

DJ GEAR SET-UP
On Friday for the awards gala, North Coast opted for DJ Track Star Staci’s “standard DJ booth” set-up and no dance floor lighting. They also upgraded to add uplit pillars. The full set-up included the following gear:

On Saturday for the pool party, North Coast opted for DJ Track Star Staci’s “basic DJ booth” set-up and no lighting. They also upgraded to add real turntables. The full set-up included the following gear:

For This La Quinta DJ Party
''FEEL GOOD'' POOLSIDE VIBES
To create an upbeat yet relaxing pool party atmosphere, I combined three of my favorite playlists: Soul & Funk Playlist from Birba, DJ Track Star Staci’s Nu-disco Playlist, and Official Palm Springs Playlist. I started the party with “My Girl” by the Temptations about 100 beats per minute. I continued to increase the energy from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm until I ended the party at 128 beats per minute. The music was mostly soul, Motown, disco, R&B plus a few Latin, big band/old jazz, and country curve balls (“Sunny & 75” by Joe Nichols, a deep house remix of Peggy Lee’s “Fever,” a salsa remake of Vicente Fernandez’ “Estos Celos”).
