Dance Party DJing at Emerson Estate in Thermal

DJ Track Star Staci was thrilled to be the Thermal DJ chosen to spin the tunes for Rhiannon & Ryan’s wedding dance party at Emerson Estate. This upscale event on March 24, 2023, was held just a few blocks away from the Empire Polo Club (better known as the site of the Coachella & Stagecoach music festivals!). The following write-up is based on Thermal DJ Track Star Staci’s notes for this Emerson Estate dance party.

THIS EMERSON ESTATE EVENT TIMELINE

Thermal DJ Track Star Staci played from 9:30pm until 2:00am. There weren’t too many formalities since her portion of the event was just open dancing (an “opener” DJ from Bass & Bliss Entertainment handled the wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner).

9:30 pm ➔ Dance party starts/DJ Track Star Staci's set starts (``Let's Go Crazy,`` Prince)

10:30 pm ➔ Cake cutting (“Lips like Sugar,” Echo and the Bunnymen)

11:00 pm ➔ Garter removal (“Dulceria,” Afi)

11:05 pm ➔ Garter Toss (“New Noise,” Refused)

11:10 pm ➔ Bouquet Toss (“Hot Stuff, Donna Summer)

2:00 am ➔ Last Dance

While southern California corporate DJ Track Star Staci offers clients pre-curated playlists to choose from, these clients opted to share a 20-song Spotify list and then let DJ Track Star Staci use her expertise to keep the dance floor poppin.’ The client said an extra sprinkling of southern rock would be appreciated as well. How Many Guests? ➔ 200 (mid-30s age)

Take Requests? ➔ at the DJ's discretion, prioritize wedding party requests

Genres of Music ➔ A mix, use Spotify list, not much--if any--country, lots of 70s soul, 80s new wave, and Southern rock (Lynyrd Skynyrd, Doobie Brothers, AC/DC, ZZ Top), some rap is ok (especially 90s), varriety of old/new, no trap, a few Latin songs is OK, no techno

Swearing? ➔ R/X-rated is OK (later on)

Line/Group Dances? ➔ Only if requested

Must-Play Songs? ➔ “Let’s Go Crazy,” Prince and “I Got B*tches,” A2M (end of night)

Slow Dances? ➔ Yes...newer and older ballads
